Main activities

The most important activities of the Institute:

  • Applied research and technical development in the textile industry in domestic and international collaboration
  • Physical and chemical laboratory testing of textile based material and wearing apparel (in accredited laboratory)
  • Textile and clothing on-site quality control testing
  • EU-Type examination of protective clothing, headgear and protective equipment, testing, certification and inspection as a notified body
  • Specific international quality testing and certification - for example OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100, OEKO-TEX® STeP (Sustainable Textile and Leather Production); OEKO-TEX® MADE IN GREEN;  OEKO-TEX® ECO PASSPORT; OEKO-TEX® DETOX TO ZERO; and OEKO-TEX®LEATHER STANDARD.
  • Standardization (requirements and test standards, textile machinery safety)
  • Engineering service (clarification of technological problems and damage cases, consultation in quality and environment management systems)
  • Textile machinery safety expert advice
  • Distribution of textile products with Institute-owned mark MEDTEX®
