The HOHENSTEIN Institute 

The Hohenstein Institute was founded in 1946 as an independent and privately owned research and teaching centre for the textile and clothing industry and for commercial textile care companies. Prof. Dr. Stefan Meechels, third-generation president and CEO of the family-owned testing and research center, established a family board to manage the company in 2024.  Dr. Stefan Droste is currently president and CEO of HOHENSTEIN. More than 1,500 employees are available to customers at Hohenstein's headquarters in Bönnigheim, Germany, and around the world. In addition to Germany (bönnigheim), it has accredited laboratories in India (Gurugram), Bangladesh (Dhaka), China (Hong Kong, Shanghai), and Hungary (Budapest). Its services cover the testing and certification of soft (textiles, clothing, leather and footwear) and hard (technical, except electronics) products, as well as personal protective equipment and medical devices.

KG In addition to testing and certificating according OEKO-TEX® offers a wide range of other material and quality testing and inspections, audits.As of September 1, 2024, it ceased to exist as a result of internal restructuring and merger, and its legal successor is Hohenstein Laboratories GmbH & Co. KG.

HOHENSTEIN INSTITUT FÜR TEXTIL-INNOVATION GmbH A HOHENSTEIN TEXTILE INSTITUTE OF INNOVATION uses its application-oriented research and development of innovative products and methods to open up new market segments for the entire textile industry and its target markets.
HOHENSTEIN ACADEMY E.V. The HOHENSTEIN ACADEMY offers basic and advanced training, workshops and conferences for the whole textile and clothing industry as well as for the related sectors of the economy.
